Elko IOOF Cemetery
Elko County
This section of the cemetery is divided between the Masons and the Odd Fellows. In the first photo, you will see a pathway that divides the two sections. The Odd Fellows are on the left. The Masons are on the right. The Odd Fellows section has hundreds of burials, so I wasn't able to include anywhere near all of the gravestone photographs. I obviously went with the older stones. I also tried to use a representative sample of the different types of stones in this section. There are many stones here that are of the same design. The years have not been good to them. It appears that water damage is eroding the writing. There are also missing markers in this cemetery. They are now marked with the small IOOF bricks that you will see in one of the photos.
The Elko Odd Fellows Lodge #18 was instituted on October 19, 1871. They were still meeting in Elko as of a few years ago, but my understanding was that membership was very small.
