Longstreet's- South

Nye County

Andrew Jackson "Jack" Longstreet was a legendary western gunfighter. He was originally from the south. It has been speculated that Louisiana was a strong possibility as a birth state. After coming west, he made his way to El Dorado on the Nevada side of the Colorado. He would eventually live in several very rural locations throughout Nye County. These places ranged from Ash Meadows near present day Pahrump in the south, up to Windy Canyon near Belmont in the north. He also had places in the Oasis Valley north of Beatty and at Stinking Spring in the Kawich Range. Longstreet built and lived in this cabin with his wife Susie from 1895 to 1899. (TO BE CONTINUED)
