Maris Pebble Mine

AKA: Maris Pebble Quarry; Opal Mine

I haven't been able to find a discovery year for this operation. Crushed and broken stone was listed as the primary commodity, with gold being tertiary. USGS reports state "The rock was quarried, and after rough grinding was shipped to Manhattan, Tonopah, Goldfield for use in tube mills." "Pebbles mined for use in ball mills at Manhattan." In 1974, the mine was listed as an opal claim by J.C. Reed and D.C. Hill of Manhattan.

Last Trip/ Road Conditions: April 2016. I don't remember the road being too bad. We were able to get there in a vehicle that isn't meant for really bad roads.
