Round Mountain Cemetery

Round Mountain is one of the longest continuous gold mining operations in Nevada. The old town of Round Mountain sits right next to the cemetery. As the open pit mining operation grew closer and closer to old Round Mountain, most of the residents moved down to the valley floor. I believe that there are still a couple of holdouts still living in old Round Mountain though. In some of the photos, you can see the mining operation in the close background.
