Spring Valley Cemetery
See the Spring Valley (Lincoln County) page for a history on this area, as well as information on those who are buried in this cemetery. The historical sign that was hanging on the gate back in the late 1990's read: "In this cemetery are buried members of the Rice family and other early residents of Spring Valley. Along with other pioneering families, the Rices helped settle this valley in the mid 1860's. The graves in the cemetery extend from that time period to the turn of the century. In recent years, thoughtless people have destroyed some of the grave markers so that now those buried here will remain nameless."
I've said it before and I'll say it again. How big of a piece of trash do you have to be to destroy historic gravestones? Or any gravestone for that matter? May they REST IN PEACE.
